About Us
Since being established in 2009, Project Soul, under the direction of Kim Sato, continues to joyfully entertain professionally and share with the community through their various teaching and outreach initiatives they are involved with. They have toured and performed their street dance shows “Project Soul” and “Back 2 Basics” over 600 times. And currently they are touring their newest work "The Routes".

Each member of the team is a highly sought after working professional dance artist appearing in live and commercial work such as "Warrior's Gate", “Groovaloos”, “So You Think You Can Dance Canada”, “Skull Candy”, “Further Adventures in Babysitting”, “Witches of Eastend”,“Hellcats”, “The L Word”, “She’s the Man”, “Kicking It Old School”, “Centre Stage 2”, “Another Cinderella Story” and much, much more.

Their mission is to continually inspire as many SOULS through their genuine love and passion for the culture and art of street dance.

Kim Sato

Kim Sato is the founder/director of Project Soul. She feels extremely grateful for the many unique opportunities that she has experienced in her long career as a professional dance artist. As a street dancer she has traveled the world teaching, judging and battling/competing. She has been a finalist and winner of many all styles and locking battles in the US and Canada.
As a professional performer she has toured and performed in China, Japan, Brazil, Korea, Europe and all over the US and Canada.
Kim hopes to keep challenging herself as an artist, educator, artistic director, choreographer, producer and dance advocate as long as she possibly can.

Kevin​ ​Fraser​ ​(Diva​ ​K)

​Kevin Fraser is a Jamaican born international Dancer, Performance Artist, Actor, Event Host and facilitator, Stylist, and Creative Entrepreneur currently residing in Vancouver, Canada. Kevin is well versed in many urban dance forms including; jazz funk, vogue, waacking, dancehall, house, urban contemporary, pantsula, lofting, and hip hop. He has also trained in classical dance forms as a former student of Ryerson University's BFa Performance Dance program. During his time at Ryerson University he trained in: Ballet, Jazz, Modern, African, Contemporary Ballet, Improv, Voice, Drama and

Natasha Gorrie

Natasha Gorrie has grown up in the hip hop dance scene since a young age. Her first brush with hip hop dance was when her mother taught her how to do the running man in the living room of their home. Natasha is a rare talent that has managed to excel in the professional dance industry, while building a well known and respected reputation in the underground dance community across Canada and around the world. As a professional dancer, her credits include She’s The Man, Another Cinderella Story, Hellcats, The Magicians and So You Think You Can Dance Canada, music videos for DJ Tiesto and Lady Sovereign, and commercials for Campbell’s Soup and Nestle Water. As a freestyler, she has battled around the world and has won numerous titles, and has taught and judged in India, Netherlands, Thailand, Greece, China and the USA. Natasha is co-founder of the Vancouver based powerhouse female crew “Diamonds In The Rough”.

Bryce Koebel (Wonder Bread)

Bryce Koebel, A.K.A. Wonderbread is a Surrey born dancer specializing in Popping & Animation. Bryce has been apart of Project Soul as a dancer/performer for the past 5 years and has always been known as "the big robot guy" on stage.

Thomas Cao (Mad Cao)

B-Boy

Thomas started breakin' in 2007 and has travelled to learn and compete all over the world. Consistently being immersed in different cultures has transcended his approach to dance beyond local traditions giving his style a unique flavour that caters to all types of artistic palates.

Rupert​ ​Common

MC, Spoken Word

​Rupert Common is an interdisciplinary artist and Hip Hop facilitator from Vancouver, BC. Originally getting into Hip Hop through the art of rap and freestyle, Rupert moved into spoken word and battling while simultaneously training as a b-boy. His passion for arts and culture led him to curate local shows involving all the elements, and eventually got him hooked on guitar and singing. He is currently studying music composition full-time at VC, and teaches recreational dance at several studios.

Philip Kim

Philip Kim is an passionate b-boy that has dedicated the past few years solely to his craft. He wishes to experiment with different movement and constantly push his boundaries within his dance.

Jax Hsu

Breaking

Jax Hsu also known as "Jax Fermada," has been bboying for 15 years and continues to elevate his skills as a bboy. He represents the "Now or Never Crew" and "Nation of Funk" from Vancouver, Canada. As a Chinese/Taiwanese growing up in Canada he has developed a unique style. He credits his distinct style to his Eastern roots and Western upbringing. His athleticism allows him to be very musical and swift, but he also has a creative side that emphasises his funky character which earned him the nickname of the "Fresh Prince of Taiwan."

Amanda Wild

Hip Hop

Amanda Wild has been an avid dancer teaching and choreographing on the West Coast for over 6 years. Training in technical and street styles Amanda has trained, apprenticed, and worked in many Vancouver companies including: Harbour Dance Centre's ITP, SOULdiers Co, Illustrative Society's Mentorship Program,and TwoFourSeven Co. Due to her strong passion for teaching, as well as her unique choreography, Amanda has continued to work in Vancouver dance scene, choreographing for names such as Dancing With The Stars B.C, SO LOKI, and The Harlem Globetrotters.

Victor Tran – B.Boy Savage Rock – is an accomplished professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher.
He competes and performs across the globe making his experience vast and varied. He has represented Canada with his crew, Now Or Never, at Battle Of The Year (2008, Germany) and at the Fluido World Championships (2012, Italy.) He won the freestyle battles at World Of Dance (2010, Seattle) and been selected to represent all of Western Canada to compete at one of the biggest and most prestigious B.Boy battles to date, Redbull BC One (2014, Seattle.) In addition to his technical proficiency as a dancer, Savage has a deep understanding of the social history and cultural roots of Hip Hop and Breaking, and brings that wealth of knowledge into his practice as a highly sought-after teacher.
In life, Savage spends his time training, learning new dance styles, practicing yoga, and is currently studying to finish a degree in English and Philosophy. He is a lifelong student in addition to a proficient teacher – and intends to stay that way.

Hannah Henney

Hip Hop

Born in Vancouver, Hannah is a well rounded dancer in many styles. She dances with Diamonds in the rough, an all female hip hop crew who have performed, battled and taught all over from New York, to Amsterdam. She can also be seen in countless music videos, tv shows such as Magicians and A Series of Unfortunate Events and is currently working on an upcoming Disney movie. Hannah is also a Tap, Jazz and Hip hop instructor and absolutely loves sharing her passion with the youth.
